  subtitles with effects

  Hi everybody,

  I need to make subtitles with effects for a video.
  I use this script https://scientificswede.blogspot.it/2012/07/importing-srt-subtitles-in-after-effects.html to make subtitles and it works very well! 😉 Now I would like to add some effects in incoming and outgoing of all subtitles? How could I do it?

  The problem is that I want automate the process for all subtitles; I would like to add the effects for all subtitlel without to add keyframes manually..which
  part of code of the script I have to modify?or which lines of code javascript I have to add?

  i’m not a script guy, but you may be able to use expressions for this.

  the script looks like it writes a keyframe each time it changes the text. using expressions you can detect the keyframes on the source text property to drive change in another property.

  this example (pasted in the opacity property of the text layer) will create a fade in and out at each source text keyframe:

  fadeT = .5; // value in seconds
n = text.sourceText.nearestKey(time);
t = Math.abs(time-n.time);
if (t > fadeT) 100;
else linear(t, 0, fadeT, 0, 100)
