    Hello all,

Basic question, but I’m a basic user still learning.

I have an vector graphic stick figure drawing connected to a pencil line that runs horizontally along the bottom of the screen. I’d like to have the line and stick figure reveal as if they are being drawn on the screen, but I don’t know how to animate the mask in order to achieve this effect. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

There are a couple of ways to go about it.

Depending on the complexity of the shape and the way it’s broken up, you may just be able to use trim paths. But you’d probably want to change it from simultaneously to individually. But this might not be what you’re looking for.

You could also use the write-on effect. You essentially paint brush strokes over it in the way you want to reveal.

Another thing I like to do is to animate a separate shape and use it as a track matte to reveal the picture.

Any of these may work for you. Play with them and see which result you like best.
