    Hi,

I’ve rendered out an image sequence from max to .rla and imported that into after effects. I’ve then used the keyframe assistant to create a rpf camera.

So far so good. The problem comes when I start placing layers into the 3d space. They seem to slip slightly when viewed through the camera. They are very close but not quite there. I’ve set the layer(s) to position 0,0,0 and also added a object at 0,0,0 from max for reference.

Is it a scale issue I’m having? Can anyone help?

    Thanks

In my personal experience,….using rpf’s is quite a pain,….especially when trying to match alot of elements. And figuring it out can be tough since you must understand that in MAX’s world, 0,0,0 is the center of 3D space,….wheras in AE 0,0,0 is the upper left corner of your comp, with a Z depth of 0. Not to mention the y and z axis are flipped.

The only solution I know of that makes MAX/AE integration ez is MAX2AE from http://www.boomerlabs.com I believe they have a free timed fully functional trial as well. Give it a shot,…

Thanks very much. Seems a much better solution so far!
