    Hi guys,

I made this alien kind of spaceship with Trapcode Mir, and would like to stick a smoke emitter attached to its back side.
Similar to the light that they have in the back of this in this video: https://vimeo.com/47051056

I’ve been trying to do this for days! lol. I’m just a beginner so am no pro.
I’ve tried making nulls, tried to get the null to be in the exact position of the end of the alien thing but no matter how many hours i spent I still can’t get it to be where I want it to. And even when it looks almost right and I parent the Smoke emitter to the null and the mir layer to the null it doesn’t fly together.

Would be very grateful for any advice.

    Thanks lots!!

The easiest way is to render your Mir animation, track the point where you want the lens flare to be and apply the track info to the lens flare. Animate the intensity and rotation as well- that works 90% of the times.

    HI Ted,
Thank you for your reply! What a good idea! I didn’t think of that one. Thank you a lot. Will try it out right away. 🙂
    Have a good day
