  AE crashes when I animate masks

  Not sure what is going on, but when I animate mask path in either AE 6 or AE CC, the program crashes. I copied the layer and turned of the mask tracking-no crash.

  Has anyone ever heard of AE crashing when tracking mask changes?

  I suppose a tedious workaround would be to copy several layers in the comp panel cut such that one static mask leads smoothly into a different static math, slightly changed from the initial over and over.

  Any other ideas?
