  • Using masks with particles

I created a mask in the shape of bottle and I am using the Cannon particle generator in AE to create the illusion of smoke like plasma within the bottle. All works well until the bottle is moved in the scene. Once the movement begins the particles start to fall outside the mask. I have the particle mask linked to the movement of the bottle and I can see the point generator following the movement but while it’s moving the particles are landing outside the mask. Once the bottle in the scene stops moving the particles seem to catch-up and are once again bounded by the mask. Not sure how to clean this up? Any suggestions would be helpful.

I’m not sure how you have this set up but I would suggest pre-composing your bottle with the particles and then just animating the position of the pre-comp.
