Activity Forums Panasonic Cameras combining P2 24PN footage with Varicam

I am beginning post on a show shot primarily on Varicam, with a few b-roll elements captured on a HVX200 at 720 24PN.

The piece will be mastered to DVCPro tape and projected using a 1200A deck.

I understand that I have to be careful with the P2 Native footage, since it is not 23.98 over 59.97 as is the Varicam footage.

I am looking for any and all tips and suggestions on combining these two types of footage and avoiding problems when it comes to mastering to tape.

    Thanks,

You know that the HVX can shoot whatever format you shoot with the Varicam, right? It can shoot 59.94, or 23.98 over a 59.94 stream (if you choose 24p and not 24pn). Or, if you shoot 24p with the Varicam and capture it using the 720p24 Easy Setup with FCP, it captures it as 23.98, so it mixes well with 24pn from the HVX.

I intercut footage from these cameras all the time.
