  Panasonic HD Monitor advice

  I am lookign into buying an HD monitor that will be used to view HD footage and DVD’s. Looks liek teh only way to go into teh monitor form my G5 or 1200A deck would be SDI. Is this true? The SDI board is an additional $800. Also can i just buy a panasonic HD television and do teh sAME thing? Is one better than the other?
