  Audio Sync Issues with DVCPRO HD footage and a AJ1200 Deck

  I am having seemingly random clips that I have captured in FCP 5.1 be out of Sync. The Audio is playing before the footage on my capture scratch as well as in FCP. Most of the clips are fine but every once in while I will get one bad one. Is there a possible setting on the deck or in FCP that would make this Happen, or is this just a freak occurance? SAM

  This happens to me all the time….EVERY clip. Typically the offset is two frames. Audio hits two frames before video. But sometimes it is 8 frames and that is REALLY annoying. And I’ll capture the footage again and again and by logging and capturing, or by Capture Now…and I get the same result for the clips…either 2 or 8 frames.

  So I adjust the footage on the timeline as I edit. Cut it in, slip the audio. I’d like to avoid that, if I could, but I haven’t found a solution to this dilemma yet.
