  Varicam in Europe (AJ-HDC27F-E) vs USA (AJ-HDC27F-P) — Difference in htz Problem????

  I am shooting an HD show for the History Channel in the US and will be mastering the finished product onto HD for delivery in the US. However we are shooting in europe. We were going to rent the Varicam from there.
  I am trying to find a definate answer about the differences between the two cameras. Most people I have come across have said there is no difference but I am still not sure. Does anyone know if there is any differnce that would case an issue if I shoot with the European Varicam and edit and master in the US for broadcast? Is the difference in Hz processing an issue?
  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

  Hello Emre;

  The AJ-HDC27FP and AJ-HDC27FE are the same camera, same software, same specs, same everything.
  The only difference betwen the “P” and “E” versions is in the labeling for the local US or EU safety specs, EU is CE, US is UL. If you shooting in the EU, you should check that the SYS FREQ menu is set to 60.00, in the US is is usually set to 59.94. This is to be found in the Engineering menus, Camera menu #4, Options, SYS FREQ.

  If your intend is for delivery here in the states you should set the camera to 59.94.
