Lighting/audio question
I’m filming several plays that are being held in school auditoriums – there is stage lighting and live audio from surround speakers. I’ll be filming about 100-175 feet back from the stage. Any advice how to get good audio and a good picture quality w/out any additional lighting or mic?

No offense here intended but I think you answered your own question. You get what you get off the camera. As far as lighting you get what you see, go to rehersal if it is dark it is going to record dark. Try to talk to them to keep the lights up.
Audio recorded by the camera mic ? good luck. will probally record terribly. I did a 3 camera shoot last week, took a feed from their board, really the best way to go.
I also run my audio into a mixer, then I have control with the mixer and do not have to touch and bump the camera riding audio levels

Definitely bring multiple cameras and get an audio board feed. A single camera with onboard mic is utterly pointless unless your filming for evidence footage in court that the event actually occurred.
