Hi list. I read the very helpful posts on this list about setting the free run with the same remote. Works a treat but my followup question is what happens when one or either camera is turned off. Does the freerun function keep cameras in sync or do you have to repeat this function each time.

Many thanks in asvance for any insight.

    Peace,

    Kevin

Free run is based on the internal battery’s clock so it will keep time in sync whether on or off.

Even the most professional camera will lose sync after a while unless they are cabled together. We’ve run extensive tests with Sony DigiBeta and others and when you power down, there is a hesitation in the time code for some unknown reason. Unless we keep a cable running from an “outie” on one and an “innie” on the other, the time code will drift, even if both cameras are running in record the whole time. It shouldn’t happen but it does.

Within one day I’ve not had this happen on DVX’s but it’s definitely a possibility.
