Varicam and HD Broadcast (cross posted in varicam forum)
I have a quick question. Does the Varicam’s native HD spec comply with HD broadcast spec for US networks. I know that it is a 720P HD format and I wonder if broadcasters are accepting DVCPRO HD 720P for their delivery specs?
The question came up recently in a conversation about a drama series where the delivery spec specifically states that it does not accept DVCPRO aqusition. Can this be true?
II know that varicam footage can be upconverted to 1080i and that can be output to D5 or HDCAM, but are the networks accepting this?
Is there a list of network shows currently being shot Varicam?

Wastes time and volunteer resources. Pick the most appropriate forum and ask the question there. That’s how it works on just about any forum FYI.
