    hello all. when i plug in my headphones and listen to audio when recording on my dvx100a, the audio has a reverb problem. does anyone know of this or how to fix it? thanks in advance.

    It happens in the progressive scan modes — the slower the frame rate, the more the echo.

    It happens because the audio needs to be delayed by two frames before being written to tape. So what you’re hearing through the headphones is 1/12 second delayed. You’re hearing “reality” and the 2-frame-delayed recording, and that’s what causes the echo.

    The only way to “fix” it would be with noise-blocking headphones that block any live sound from leaking into the headphones.
