  • HD footage with DVCProHD is 960×720??? Help!

So, I shot with our HPX500 and imported the clips using Log and Transfer. Codec is DVCPROHD but the resolution is 960×720 (PAL).

It makes no sense to me. We used to shoot SD (DV50) and then all footage was 720×576 anamorphic.

My final output will be SD DVD and/or web.

Our main edit suite uses a Mac Pro with Aja IoHD for viewing. But we also edit using iMac 27″.
Should I ingest the footage as ProRes422 rather than DvcproHD?

That is correct. DVCPROHD is a “Thin Raster” format.
Ingesting to Prores will not really gain you any quality.
When making final output or master, you’ll have a full 720p file.

Yup…as Chris says, there’s no problem. 920×720 is an Anamorphic HD format.
