  • P2 card stopped recording video (stuck on a still) but kept audio

My P2 card stopped on a still frame and discontinued recording video in the middle of a clip but kept audio. I need to get the 4 minutes of video back. The .mxf file is only 700mb or so and this clip is spanned with 4.2 GB files in front and back of it that work just fine in FCP. The clip stops playing at the point of the screen freeze in the HVX200 it was shot with. Seems like the data is lost with that file size, no? Anyone else experience this and know how it happens?

Is the media still on the card?
Did you put the card back in the cam and choose repair clip?

We did try repair clip. It says there’s no clip to repair…

Seems like an odd behavior. I’ve never seen this. Are there any indicators on the clip thumbnail when viewed from the camera? Select that clip and press repair.
