no signal from firewire port on HVX200
It’s looking like I need to have the firewire port repaired/replaced on my HVX200p and Panasonic is less than helpful in giving me at least a ballpark estimate of what it would cost without first sending it in and charging $260 even if it turns out I can’t afford it. Can anyone who has had a similar problem let me know how much it should cost or recommend another reliable place to get it repaired where I won’t get charged just to ask?

One question, you are for certain that you camera is not set on 24pN or 30pN in the 720p mode? If it is FW will not be available.

No it’s never been in a pN mode. I’ve tried it in different settings and using different cables to isolate the cause and I’m pretty sure it’s the port.
