Like the many other P2 to FCP posts, I am having Log and Transfer issues with P2 footage.
Have a new Macbookpro with Snow Leopard
I unwittingly migrated FCP over from my old macbookpro and it worked fine until i tried to use compressor and it wouldn’t work so i then re installed FCP.
So now when I attempt log and transfer from either external drive or direct from camera (tried many different clips from my archives that i have previously used no probs.)
You can see the clips but they wont ingest(red excl. point ‘no data’ etc) UNLESS… they have no audio, or are at a higher frame rate (ie:no audio)
I unchecked the audio in import settings in log and transfer to test this and the clip will then ingest no problem.
    I have re-installed FCP
I have upgraded FX Factory (and then uninstalled it)
    I feel like I’m getting close…

I have unchecked the ‘remove advanced pull down’ preference.

How did you re-install? Did you UNINSTALL first? Using the FCS remover app from https://www.digitalrebellion.com? For the smoothest installs, you really need to install the apps fresh. If you already migrated, then to make sure that you have a fresh install, you need to erase the hard drive, reinstall the OS, then reinstall FCS. Second best way is the FCS remover. If you didn’t uninstall, then reinstalling won’t fix anything.

Did you use P2CMS to bring the clips off the P2 Card and onto the hard drive first?

    Thanks for replying Shane.
So I’ve now wiped clean and reinstalled FCP and still can’t get it to transfer the clips.(unless they are slow mo)I have also downloaded P2 driver for SL.

Have you ‘reunchecked’ the pulldown box?

Also, is this from an HPX500?

yes I have unchecked the pulldown box.
It;s all footage from HVX200 which has previously transferred no probs on my old ‘panther’ MBP
