    Hey friends,
I am making a short documentary about a Cyclist. The END FRAME of the video should be something like this…
” Cyclist approaching towards the Horizon (or SUNSET) ”

But I dont have a perfect location like this to shoot..
What is the best way to achieve this shot by ‘Compositing’??

    Plz suggest me your views

Shoot the biker on stands in a chroma studio with adequate lighting and a long lens (you’ll need a chroma setup that will allow you to setup the camera close to the ground at a significant distance from the subject). Shoot some moving plant elements and the sun with a long lens as well. Then you can composite the shot adding maybe some heat distortion.

But Ted, this is a low budget film, I cant afford that kind a setup.
    Now what is the alternative?

Then best would be to find the right location.
    If that’s not possible:
Find a good location for the shot- road on a hill- where you can set the camera low and far to get the same look as in your reference shot, preferably with just blue sky as background. Shoot a nice sunset with the long lens as well. Comp the sun in the first shot and alter the color/levels to match the look you’re after.

    Hi
—- for low budget version suggest…

1 ) shoot cyclist on location as per ref against a clear sky ( as much as possible ) so that the cyclist is essentially in silhouette.

2 ) luma key cyclist and landscape over a still frame of sunset.

3 ) add an animating lens flare to sell the shot.

4 ) if you have any footage of birds that will key maybe add a few as silhouettes as well……..

…………… wont win any prizes but if done thoughtfully with a few tweaks can look very effective.
