P2 CMS Software – P2 Forge?
Just got an HPX300 and am curious about others opinions on content management software for P2 cards/clips. I have seen mixed reviews on Panasonic’s CMS product. I have not read anything here about P2 Forge – which seems like a very nice product?
Would prefer something that not only facilitates copy/archiving the P2 cards – but editing metadata for library.
I will be dumping cards off to NAS – starting off with 6TB – and loading into Avid Media Composer.
Any thoughts/comments are much appreciated.

Iff all you need is offloading software for windows, I’d look to imagine products, Shotput Pro

If you need metadata editing on a Mac, I’d look at P2 Flow from MXF4mac.

Our IT dept. insists on Windows only 🙁
Looking for something hopefully more robust than just offloading, although that is certainly an important component. Really want something to also edit shots and enter metadata. In a perfect world I could record clip info, SOT’s — all that good stuff.
Am I dreaming?
P2 Forge seems to fit the bill…and for $45 – hey I can certainly afford it – more worried about “corrupting” clips and existing data on product I know little about.

Imagine Products makes a metadata editor and cataloging program for windows. Might check that out.
I have no experience with P2 forge at all.

Thanks much for your input. Sounds like you have some experience with ShotPut Pro? Like it? Have you used the other Imagine Products you mentioned? TEP HD?
