I am looking to get a nice HD monitor for the field and office for my HPX 170. I would like it to be between 20 and 25 inches. Do you have any recommendations? What is the best way to hook the 170 up to an HD monitor? I see two outputs on the back of the camera. Will either of these allow me to preview it in true 720p or 1080p? And finally… will I need a special adapter for this?

Thank you! Any info is much appreciated.

We have a Panasonic 17″ High-Def monitor we use in the field. They have a larger monitor, but it would be more cumbersome to travel. Be sure to checkout Flanders Scientific monitors, too. Your camera has a HD-SDI out which you’d connect to your monitor. No adaptor necessary – just a SDI cable with BNCs on each end.
