  some question’s about format

  hi all

  we are shooting on pany 500 i noticed that when in fcp it is 1440×1080 pixels nonsquare dvcpro codec

  wonder if it is better (faster editing or quality) to go proress

  also i saw no 1080p25 setup possible
  they do feature a 1080i25p setting (this is what sony calls PsF right?

  and i finnaly i wonder about the MTF (if i rember correctly)
  on an EX3 i wa told that got the best picture if one choose the 720p25 setup

  wonder what you pro’s outthere recommend

  I’d edit in DVCPro HD. You can only Log & Transfer in that codec with files from that camera. I’m not sure what the advantage would be to transcode to ProRes. I edit with DVCPRO HD all the time and it’s fast.

  Yeah, DVCPRO HD imports only as DVCPRO HD. It cannot come in as anything else. I too edit as DVCPRO HD with zero issues.
