You can fire the native P2 MXFs to FCP by using P2 Flow CM:

From FCP you can send them to Compressor or use the Batch Export directly in FCP.

ProxyMill will be a killer App for creating Proxy’s once it’s finished!

Dan and the people at Imagine are working very hard on it.

You may also want to check out DVFilm Raylight for Mac. It makes .mov reference files with a meta data slate. Free demo and 25% off until xmas.

    Hope this helps,

Movie REFERENCE files. Guys, what we are talking about are low resolution proxie movies. FULLY self contained movies that are lower resolution and contain burned in time code information. So that you can send the producer home with footage to view on his PC or Mac and make paper cuts or comments. Files that you can send to a transcription company for transcripts. Something that neither of those other products do.

Don’t get me wrong, I like what those products do, but in this case they don’t offer a solution that the original poster is asking for.

It is totally possible with MXF4mac in combo with compressor, or even FCP. It will be covered in a future tutorial that I will be posting with the next 2-3 weeks.

If you need more information on it, please feel free to contact me directly.
