  • FCP Log and Transferring Incorrect Format?

I’m working with footage that was supposedly shot at 1080i24p on the Panasonic HPX 170.

I’m using the Log and Transfer tool in FCP 6.0.5 to ingest my footage. It appears that the footage is being captured at 1080p30 at 29.97. We have 3 frames progressive, 2 interlaced, 3…2…3…2…

Can Final Cut capture the footage incorrectly? Is there a fix to correct this?

You need to check the REMOVE PULLDOWN option in the L&T preferences.

Thanks so much, Shane. That has been checked though, and the footage is still coming in interlaced.

Here is a screen grab of my Log and Transfer window. Final Cut says the footage is 24, but says the vid rate is 29.97.

I freaked out for no reason. Just got word that we’re shooting at 60i with a pulldown to make it look 24. Thanks for your help!

    Hello,

I have the same issue, except that I do NOT want interlacing, and the remove pull-down checkbox is checked. Any ideas? My footage was shot at HVX200, 1080 24p. As soon as I import a clip (which shows no interlacing in the L&T viewer) and play it in the browser viewer, it show severe interlacing. My “Easy Setup” settings are HDV 1080 60i, are my “Easy Settings” inappropriate for this?

    Thanks,

    Eric
