Just got the HVX200. I have found that CH1 XLR input is being overdriven no matter how low I turn the input level. I have tried a lapel mic and a mic using phantom power. Same results. CH1 through the internal mic seems fine.

If I use CH2 internal or XLR everything sounds great on both mics.

Am I missing something or do I need to put this back in the box and send it back?

    Thank for any input,
    Brett

Did you check the mic switch in the front of the camera?

Most dynamic mics need Mic input, while many wireless, or mixer outputs will need Line. Also check your audio gain in the menu.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I did take a look at all of those things with no luck. Waiting for a word back from Panasonic as well.

    Thank you,
    Brett

If the mic you are using works fine on Channel 2 and you have the input levels set the same in the menus along with the external switches and Channel 1 is still a problem, sent in in for repair.

    Hello All,
We sent the unit back to where we purchased from. We got a new unit and all inputs work great. Something on the first unit must have been out of whack.
    Thanks
