I’ve got this footage of a guy shot on greenscreen and it looks terrible. There is a tremendous amount of noise in his dark suit and hair. This is just the raw footage I haven’t done anything to it yet. I can’t figure out what I did wrong especially because I shot two other things that day with the same settings of 720p 30:30. The only thing is that it was shot through glass because I had a teleprompter up, but he wasn’t the only one using it that day. Can anyone suggest anything?? I know I probably can’t fix it but I want to make sure I don’t do it again.

    Thanks

Just be sure everything is lit really well. Even if the resulting scene is supposed to be dark, put more light on the talent than the end result calls for and then the editor can adjust it in post. That will help keep the details.

I shot green screen a couple times and had no issues, though I’ve heard others talk of problems with jaggies. Haven’t heard of increased noise. There’s a little noise that’s inherent in the HVX200, but nothing too dramatic.

Are you sure your ND Filter was set to “Off?”
