When I try putting my hvx200 into VCR mode, it won’t, even though I hold down the button for a while. Then, when I try to turn it off, the hvx wont and i have to manually unplug the battery. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for the help

Sounds like a firmware issue. Try updating ot re-installing the firmware. If it does not work send it to panasonic.

Were you able to put it into VCR and PC mode before?

I can’t even do a firmware update since like the vcr button doesn’t work, neither does the menu button. Just before this happened, I was uploading film to my computer, like I always do, and I was able to make the camera go into vcr mode. After uploading two of the clips, the camera screen said micon error, and the froze the uploading process. I had to force quit FCP and i ejected the camera. Then when i tried turning off the camera, it wouldn’t, and when i tried putting the camera into vcr mode, it wouldn’t. If I put the camera into tape mode, everything does work fine. I don’t know if any of this helps…

Reset button works, but the problem continues after the hvx has been reset

You should contact Panasonic Service and have them look at it. http://www.panasonic.com/broadcast and click through the support section to service on your model and zip code. Something is obviously wrong.
