  • How to manage a multi camera shoot on the road?

I’m trying to plan out a weeklong shoot where 4-5 cameras are going to be shooting several hours a day. About a minimum of 4 16gb cards each. This will all be while traveling, with shooting wrapping up late at night.

Is there an easy way of dealing with capturing all this footage? At first I thought a macbook pro, external Raid 1, and p2 drive were a simple solution. Then I thought it might be even easier to just shoot myself (I don’t mean with a camera).

Any other suggestions? I could have other computers along, have other shooters dealing with capturing their own stuff. Maybe capturing from multiple computers straight to a NAS? Or seperate drives? Through expresscard? Using P2CMS?

Get the downpayment first, party hardy, and then just loop a firewire cable around the lighting grid in the studio… a lot less messy…

Or just send the details to me ;-0

It will be interesting to see what the pros suggest. I have a three camera HVX200 shoot coming up and I am totally new to the HD world.

Recommend you get the P2 Drive and Store…. this way you can dump the material to multiple locations quickly.
