After shooting on an HPX500 at 1080 24pA on P2… importing into Final Cut Pro via the log and transfer window (and clicking the remove advanced pulldown and duplicated frames tab in the import settings) what should the data rate of the footage be? Will it be more like that of 720p 24pN?

No as you are working at a higher resolution.

It should be around 13.5 MB/sec with 4 channels of audio.

so is there any advantage to working in 24pA (besides working in a 23.98 timeline) rather than 24p over 60i?

A slightly lesser data rate than full 1080i and you won’t have any mushy pulldown to deal with.

I like working @ 23.98 but it really depends on your needs and workflow.
