    Hi
I’m scanning all forums but can’t find the answer.
    P2 shot with HX202 50p at 25.
I’m trying to import using the Log and transfer dialogue some footage from a P2 card which I copied to my harddrive. All clips showing up fine but when I import them with ‘remove duplicate frames’ selected in the preference I get a clip that says 25fps but plays back very jumpy, has audio completely out of sync and is shorter. I also noted that the import progress bar finishes after getting half way through the clip. De-selecting the duplicate removal option creates a clip with 50fps importing properly and playing fine but obviously has every frame twice. Cutting that clip into a 25fps seq again works perfectly and removing the duplicate frames
Converting the same clip with a demo version of P2Log creates the proper 25fps clip as intended. I’m using FCP 6.01.
Not possible to get a 25p clip from a 50p shot at 25 with FCP? or is there a fix.
Thanks a million for any ideas!!
    Carsten

Raylight/Mac version 1.08 can remove 2:2 pulldown properly from 50P, however
that version is still in Beta. You can take a chance and purchase and we
will send the beta to you. Several customers have it and no problems
reported yet. It will also remove 3:2 and 2:2 pulldown correctly from 60P.

Thanks Marcus, will look into Raylight.

So, are you confirming that FCP can’t remove the 2:2 pulldown from 720/50p?

I’m not the biggest expert on FCP but I’ve heard the “remove duplicate frames” option is problematic. It’s trying to examine frames to find redundancy whereas Raylight 1.08 in that mode simply skips every other frame, and there’s not much that can go wrong there. If you want to wait a few days I think we are going to release it and then you can try the 1.08 demo.
