  • Wiping P2 cards?

I am going to be sharing a P2 card with others, and some of the video I will be shooting will be from an educational setting and it will include students, and we do not want anyone else to have access to the video. I still do not have the HVX, though I am trying to plan ahead and I know there is a wipe feature to erase the contents of the card, though my question is whether or not it is securely wiped? Can the contents of the card be recovered after it is wiped?

    Thanks.

There is an erase/initialize function in the MCR mode.

If you’re that concerned, reformat the cards, then just hit record on the camera while the lens cover is on and fill the cards up again. That will effectively overwrite anything you had previously. Then one last reformat to clear the cards and you’re set.

Recording at 720p will let you fill up 2 8GB cards in 17 minutes.
