  • Can you dub SD from P2 to Tape????

If you can believe it or not, i forgot to bring tape to a shoot but luckily had my trusty P2 to back me up. I shot in 480/24pa, and assumed at the shoot, but haven’t been able to figure out if i can dub this 480/24pa onto tape? Can the HVX only downconvert HD then dub to tape?

Only downconverted HD. It can’t copy SD to tape from a P2 card.

Get the most from your DVX camera. The DVX Book and DVX DVD are now available on ebay and at Amazon (https://www.fiftv.com/db)

    That’s gotta be a first. I have my $800 P2 card but I forget a $5 DV tape. 🙂

May I recommend to all readers, simply leave a DV tape in the HVX’s deck at all times. This kills two birds with one stone. One- you never have this gent’s problem to worry about. Two- if you are doing a shoot on a street and you don’t have a permit and the authorities bust you, you can give them the blank tape.
