  • Editing applications that supports 720/50P?

Posted by Fredrik Brofalk on April 26, 2007 at 10:04 am

    Hi!
Seems that most editing softwares (including my AVID Liquid) does support DVCPRO HD 1080/50i and 1080/25p but not 720/50p.
Is there a list of applications that have support for this framrate?
    regards

    Fred ~

The only reasonably priced NLE I know of that handles 720/50p realtime is Edius with the Edius NX Express PCI card. I have Edius and am not a great lover of some of its workflow issues but I must admit the output quality is good. NX has analogue component output. Look at the following link for a rundown on the NX card:

If you want HD/SDI their turnkey systems will handle 720/50p, see:

EDIUS Broadcast has full support for 720/25p and 720/50p and 1080/25p and 1080/50i.

Using DVFilm Raylight you can also get 720/25p and 50p support in Sony Vegas or Premiere Pro 2.

    Hi!
How is FCP supporting DVCPRO HD native? Heard that Premiere Pro supported native DVCPRO HD 720/50P when using the Matrox Axio family of cards.
    Thanks for your input!

FCP supports all modes except 720/50p IIRC. It supports 720/25p, but not 50p yet. I of course welcome anyone to correct this if I got it wrong.
