Does anyone know if it’s ok to capture 720_30P from an HVX200 via firewire to a laptop with Final Cut Pro 5.1.2? I’ve tried it and it seems to work. I just don’t know if the two are designed to work together in this setup.

Also, one issue I found is with the timecode. Since the only way I can get FCP to capture is by putting it on “non-controllable device”, Ithe timecode keeps going back to 00:00:00 for every clip. Any solution for that? I tried searching for a setup suggestion for this, but couldn’t find anything.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Yep, it works. A DP buddy o fmine operates like that ALL the time.

Nope, them’s the FCP brakes. It won’t read tc if it’s set to non controllable.

thanks for the reply! I guess it’ll work for non-mobile setups.
Looks like a Firestore is in my future for the rest.
