P2 ingest into FCP trouble (Folder copied but clips not appearing)
Hi,
I have been trying to find a post with a similar problem but I have been working on an HD feature. The first 14 P2 cards copied fine and was able to ingest all perfectly. Then I got a spate of 8 cards of 15 that did not load. What would happen is that I would add the copy of the card to the Import P2 menu, and it would show the folder, but not show any clips underneath it. Furthermore, I can see inside of the folder (in Finder) that the thumbnails are all there and are the same as the clips that should be there.
Is there a way to fix this (on the Camera fix clip function) or was this a problem from the original copying? Can I salvage anything from the MXF files or anything?
I am using the latest version of FCP (5.1.2).

Try clicking the little arrow beside the card icon.

Well that is the problem…for these cards it just appears as a folder with no arrow. The ones that worked properly had arrows which I could swirl down and see the clips.
All it appears as is the folder with no clips in it.
As I said in the original post, most of the cards have worked and I have seen how the clips import, but these come up differently in the P2 import window, though it does read that they are P2 folders.

Did you check the CONTENTS folder to make sure all the folders
and files are intact? -
Yes. Everything appears normal except that it does not show up in the P2 import window correctly. I can even see the thumbnails of the clips in one of the folders.
