Yes, you can “print to video” back to the card. Make sure the camera’s in the same mode as your timeline (i.e., 1080/60i or 720/60p) and put it in MCR mode, and turn off the thumbnails, and turn off device control. Then you should be able to see your timeline scrubbing on the camera’s LCD; just “print to video” and press the two MCR RECORD buttons (above the menu navigation buttons) and it’ll record the incoming firewire stream.

Get the most from your DVX camera. The DVX Book and DVX DVD are now available on ebay and at Amazon (https://www.fiftv.com/db)

Hey Berry, you helpeed me with this same problem. I couldn’t get it to work for a long time and then discovered that the camera, like you mentioned here, has to be set to the same record settings as your time line. I had an HD timeline that I wanted to output but the last thing I shot was a 480i and that is why the camera print to video didn’t work. I had go go back into the camera and set it back to 720p then it worked
