  • different formats on the P2 store…

I’m finally testing out the HVX200 and actually the SPX800 all this week, so I might have a few questions this week.

My first on though is that if we’re trying to shoot a side by side comparison of the HVX in 720p and 720pn (both 24 and 30p), the HVX200 in DVCPro50 16:9p (both 24 and 30) and the SPX(in DVCPro50, 16:9p both 24 and 30p), can we offload the P2 cards from both these cameras and from all these formats to the same P2 Store? Or can you only put one format type on a P2 store? I gues the question stand for the P2 Card too. I know to switch many of the functions in the HVX I have to power cycle the camera but can it record a few clips of 720 and the change to 480 and then back to 1080?

Ok that’s the first set of questions.

If people have any suggestions for me to do testing with I’d be happy to follow directions and post video clips on a ftp site. Let me know.

    Thanks!

    Chris

I have mixed formats on the same P2 card and then copied to the P2 store. I haven’t done that with any SD footage but I don’t see why it would be any different. It is all just files.

Yup- any formats the cameras shoot can be safely put on the same P2 card. Only issue is in camera playback- the same format must be set in the camera in order to playback in the VCR mode.

I am using the SPX800 and frequently have DVCPro 25 and 50 on the same cards. There is no problem with these mixed formats on the cards or store.
