I have had my 200 for a few months but have always had this problem and wonder if anyone else does and has a fix.
I use FCP 5.1.1, lots of RAM a dual G5 and the latest OSX. I have 2 x 4gig P2 cards. When I put the 200 into 1394 device mode for the purpose of downloading the contents of the P2s it invariably only connects with ONE of the TWO cards. In other words, the computer only sees one of the cards. This is evident in both the “import” window of FCP and also on the Mac desktop where only one “NO NAME” (P2) shows up.
My workaround has been to “eject” the “NO NAME”, turn off the camera and go through the whole sequence again to get to 1394 Device Connect. Most of the time after doing this the second P2 shows up and everything is OK. About 35% of the time it doesn’t and I have to go through the entire procedure again.
It is a real time waster.
I have also tried starting the whole process with the camera in 1394 mode and THEN booting up to see if that worked better but only shows one P2.
Is this a problem with my camera or P2s? (or FCP?). Or is this a problem with this whole system (camera-software-computer)?
Once I get both cards “on line” everything DLs fine.

Driver issue. The second card might have been recognized but not mounted. To check, do the following:
    1. Go into the Finder and select Utilities from the Go menu (or type shift-option-U).
    2. Open the Disk Utility application.
    3. Look on the top-left side of the Disk Utility window and there will be a list of recognized volumes. If one is grayed out, select it and then click the Mount button at the top.

This is described in more detail on page 77 of the HVX200 manual.

Thanks. I’ll give it a try.
