I know this has been discussed here a lot but here we go again.
If just using the P2 cards (no FS, P2 store, cineporter etc.), can you take an 8gb P2 card into a PCMCIA slot on a G4 and then burn the contents folder and lastclip.txt file directly to a Dual/double layer 8.5gb DVD as well as copying to a hard drive?
This would in effect give you a low cost (about $2) storage and archive solution. Shooting in 24pn that would be about 20 minutes of footage so it would cost about $6 an hour for storage of DVCPro HD footage as oppossed to $30-40 for a tape.
    Any Pro’s, Con’s?

Yes you can do that. Only con is that burning DL DVDs isn’t the fastest procedure.
