Is there a project organization script for this?
I am working on longer program that requires heavy After Effects animation. I roughed the whole thing together in Premiere as an animatic to get timing correct, and am now bringing scenes into After Effects one by one for animation with Premiere’s “Replace with After Effects composition” function.
This works great, except that every time I do this, premiere sends new copies of all of my footage and stills into After Effects. Many of these files are used multiple times so I end up with many redundant versions of the same file in After Effects.
I would love a script that would go through my project, finds multiple project links to the same file, relinks all compositions to a chosen project link to that file, then deletes the superfluous project links.
I was looking for a script on AEscripts.com, but couldn’t find one for this. Anyone know if such a script exists?

You can copy and paste selected timeline items from PPro into AE’s timeline.

Interesting. I didn’t know you could do that. That could be handy. Unfortunately, it doesn’t solve original question. It still puts a duplicate of the file link in the root of the projects window. In fact, if you paste it twice, it puts two duplicates in there.

In AE, select the folders and orphaned comps and goto the file menu to select Consolidate Footage. This removes links redundant copies of any used footage. See if this helps.
