Moving multiple keyframes.
I have been using AE for a while now and love the interface of it. As I near the completion of a job tho and after rendering out my project I see that all my timings are out and I know, now I need to go in a move a whole lot of keyframes about. When you have a comp with 60 plus layers in tho it can get pretty hairy, especially as you move a lot of keyframes, on a lot of layers and realise further down the line you’ve missed a layer out and have to do a gerzillion undo’s to get back to where you were.
So what i’m wondering then is if anyone has ANY kind of work arounds that would ease the burden of the situation or does anyone know of a plugin that would successfully emulate the keyframe summary bar at the top of the timeline in Cinema 4D whereby you can select huge chunks of keyframes, safe in the knowledge that you have them all and move them en masse. I’m surprised the bods at Adobe havn’t installed this already, it would make life so much easier.

You can shorten your animation by selecting all the key-frames that you want to change and then ALT/OPTN + dragging the last one.
you can select all the key frames of a parameter say position by selecting the parameter in the Timeline. Another way is select the layer, press UU to show all the keyframes and the press ” Cntl + Alt + A ” . Now you can change all the keyframes in one go by alt dragging the last one.

Hey Vishesh, many thanks for replying to my post. The methods you mention I am aware of and use them all the time to squash and stretch my keyframes. I’m just wondering if there is anything easier than this ‘select all by scrolling down’ method, which is very haphazard and whereby keyframes can easily be missed, especially with 60 odd layers. Anyone who has used Cinema 4D will know the ease of selecting chunks of keyframes from the top ‘summary bar’ and moving them all.
So what i’m wondering is if some genius has sat down and created a script that emulates this type of ‘summary bar’ and if they have I want to buy it and then shake them by the hand….

So you want to select all the key frames of all the layers? Is that what you want?

All the keyframes, on all the layers in specified chunks. i.e. every keyframe, on every layer from frame 240 to 290 for example.
With this method, whole sections can be moved or stretched making it a lot easier to adjust timings…

I know what you mean, it’s way too easy to miss a layer while scrolling and throw everything out of sync.
I haven’t tried it yet, but there’s a script that looks handy: https://aescripts.com/rift/
Apparently you can tweak all keyframes after the CTI, for example, which might help you achieve what you want.There’s also https://aescripts.com/rd-scooter/ which looks like you can slide keyframes by a given amount, but I’m not sure how you select which parameters you want to affect.
