As of 2 days ago, when ever I go to import a file or set the filename for a render, the files in the file browser window are listed by date instead of name. They’ve always been listed by name. It is really annoying, especially since we list the main directories by job numbers. Anyone have any idea how to fix this and what may have caused it? FYI, I’m on a PC so I’m not sure where the preferences file would be if there is one.

    Thanks,
    Adam

You set some of your folder view options in Explorer differently and saved them as the default for all folders. Since all file requesters are basically Explorer windows, they will use that setting. Change it back in Explorer and everything should work as you want.

Thanks. It worked but I had to apply the global settings with the After Effects import window open for it to take effect. What a wacky little issue.

Has anyone seen that Photoshop CS2 lets you choose between Windows file browser dialog and Adobe’s custom dialog? Curious what AE 7 will have to offer.

    Thanks again,
    Adam
