  • How to convert a Motion Path into a Bezier Stroke in Apple Motion?

Posted by Peter Moussa on November 28, 2013 at 7:38 pm

hey! I used motion path behaviors to animate a particle emitter in a 3d helix shape but now i need to create a bezier stroke with the same shape, but as everyone knows, Motion does not provide a 3d stroke tool. so can I convert the particle’s motion path into a stroke?
    thank you

Hey Andy! I made the motion path in a 3D helix shape by oscillating the x and z transformation in different phases but same amplitude while keeping the y transformation a straight line. And now I want to create a stroke shape the same way. However, I don’t think I can because while working with a motion path I can use the timeline because it’s a movement which is a matter of time, but a stroke is a still object so it’s the same on the entire timeline. Besides, I can’t create a 3d stroke so I can’t do it the other way around.

Since you seem to alreaady know you can’t create 3D strokes, I’m not sure what you’re trying to accomplish.
