  tif file imorts with white background instead of alpha

  so I have this tif file of a logo from my client. when i open it in Photoshop CS4, it clearly has an alpha channel, because behind the logo is the grey checkerboard. when i import it to Motion, either by importing or drop and dragging, the background is solid white. I can’t use a luma key or color key cause it looks dirty. Any idea how to make Motion see the alpha?

  Double click the file inside of the “media” tab in the project window. That will open it in the inspector. Then in the media tab in the inspector, there’ll be a parameter for “Alpha Type” and you can choose what you want there.

  Make sure the image is RGB and not CMYK.
