    you may know this,

i am checking a rendered animation via quicktime for example.
sure, i take the cursor and drag it to show somebody special
moments in the animation, like scrobbing back and forth.

this way sometimes i can pretty much make a new timeing with my mouse
wich feels perfect. to convert this on the keyframing stage is very tough.

would be nice to have something measuring the input and make a nice time remap in after effects. saving hours of animating sometimes.

    🙂

Such an effect has been requested in the past in the COW’s AE Expressions Forum. The trick is to precomp the video and then use Time Remapping in the ‘final’ comp to control the playback of the video. Then it’s a matter of linking the results for Motion Sketch to Time Remapping to get what you want. Again, head on to the COW’s AE Expressions Forum and conduct a search there.
