  How do I use the same image mask multiple times in one project?

  Doubtless a really dumb question, but if I’ve got a single image mask (a vector image with alpha channel) that I want to use over and over in the same project – but animated differently each time – what’s the best workflow for achieving this? Do I have to keep importing it from the File Browser for each instance, or do I just import once and then duplicate it and drag it to a new layer each time, or is there some other more elegant way of doing this?

  So far I’ve been re-importing it each time, and so I’ve got about six instances of the same mask in the Media tab.

  Duplicate the layer or the group that it’s on.
