  Keyframing the dissapearance of control points?

  Is it possible in an animated mask to somehow keyframe some control points to dissapear once they are no longer needed i.e. I have a mask over a shape, but once that shape changes and some control points are no longer needed, can i keyframe them dissapearing at that point??

  At the moment when i delete them, they are also lost in all the previous animation up until that point. which I dont want.
