Reflective floor
I wish to apply the familiar reflective surface to the floor of my Motion compostition. I just can’t figure out how to do it. I’m referring to the reflection that appears as a polished floor, seen often in Apple web content and in iTunes browsing.
I went through the entire library, and even dissected one of the templates to see what it was, but I couldn’t figure it out.
Can someone assist me?

I’m a newbie in Motion but it seems to me if you re-import the image as another layer and use 3D camera, you could lay it down and use lighting effects to get the reflective look. HTH

It’s very tedious in Motion since Motion cannot do 3D shadows from objects.
You need to know how to use Clone Layers but don’t expect the Clone to have 3D interactivity as you move your camera.See this page of tutorials for step-by-step:

Look for REFLECTION EFFECTS.
It’s really only an illusion and it’s a sloppy hack. This is a failure of the application.also see the AE tutorials here on the cow. If you can follow the AE info, you can fake it in Motion

The effect is part of the “Float” template included in Motion. I thought I could just open that up and find it. Apparently, no.
