  Adding a blur to disguise a phone number

  Hi,

  I’ve been reading and looking up how to blur a phone number on a screen. So far I am not getting the result I want which is to match the movement of the blur with the original image.

  I am using motion. I created a new project in which one group is the original shot.

  Then I created another group in which I added a mask and then a gaussian blur.

  I went back to the original shot and performed the motion tracking on it. All went well.

  Then I went back and selected the second video clip and added match move. It kept stopping every 50 frames but once I was done, I added the match move to the mask and blur.

  This seems straight forward but the results do not move the blur with the movement of the original shot.

  Any thoughts>

  Make sure the tracking point you’re using is visible throughout the shot and track from the first frame forward.

  Yes I did this.

  In the end it did work but I analyzed the blurred masked group rather than the original shot. Somehow everything kinda worked after that.
