When I create Motion files and export them, they aren’t recognized by FCP. The same thing happens with Motion files created by my editor. Both of us are using the same versions of Motion/FCP. Can anyone offer advice?

What file format are you exporting them as?
Does it work if you just save the Motion Project and drop it into the FCP timeline?

Nope. That’s the problem. Motion creates the file, which imports fine into my editor’s system (same Motion/FCP versions), but FCP doesn’t recognize it.

    hi
i was working on a project that was all motion and edited in fcp.
a lot of these problems (fcp gives a notice with a red sign?) happened.
    things that might work:
    1. use ‘save as’ different name
    2. make a new file in fcp (slug>duration>send to motion) and paste your work there
    3. same as 2, but create the file in motion
    4. trash pref files
    5. (extreme? i never got to this) new user
